Jon is a climate and environmental activist based in Metro Manila, Philippines. They are currently the National Coordinator of Kalikasan People's Network for the Environment (Kalikasan PNE), a national campaign center working with sectoral and regional organizations on environmental issues. They also serve on the Advisory Council of international human rights watchdog Global Witness. They have also contributed to academic journals on the topic of climate, health, and discrimination.

Jon's foray into activism began during their time as a student in university, leading up to his co-convening of Youth Advocates for Climate Action Philippines (YACAP) in 2019. They have previously served as the Education Coordinator and National Coordinator of the alliance.

A graduate of molecular biology and former medical student, they firmly believe in a science of and for the people. Using an anti-imperialist lens, they write here to share and develop their thoughts about climate change, nature and crisis, and science and society.
